Washington Street Mission exists to share the love of Jesus with the people of Springfield by providing opportunities to meet their spiritual and physical needs.
Every weekday at Washington Street Mission over a hundred people come through our doors. Many are homeless or staying in shelters. Some are transients just passing through. They come for a variety of reasons, but they all have a story–a place where they have come from. Our goal is to welcome them, to help them, to meet their physical needs, to hear their stories, and to share our faith.
A.C.T. with us to change lives in Springfield!
AcceptEveryone who walks through our doors is welcomed and offered a place to get out of the elements. They are offered a cup of coffee and donated food items.
We do not turn anyone away unless they prove to be a danger to themselves or others in the building. EVERYONE IS ACCEPTED |
CareEvery day we provide services to meet the basic needs of our clients. We offer bathrooms, showers, and laundry.
Every week we give away clothing to men, women, and children. We also provide hygiene items. Most importantly, we build trust and respect with our clients so we can help them move forward. CARE FOR THEIR NEEDS |
TransformOur ultimate goal is to see our clients transform. We want to be a place where lives are changed. Most of our clients have had severe trauma in their lives and have been caught up in severe addictions.
We are partnering with support services to provide holistic care for each client. Our hope is that each person can find hope and healing. A PLACE FOR TRANSFORMATION |
