Melanie’s future is full of opportunity. She has a well paying job, her own vehicle, her own home and is looking forward to the future. But Melanie was not always the confident person she is today. When Melanie first showed up at Washington Street Mission she felt alone and without hope for the future.
Melanie, like many in our community was experiencing homelessness and suffering from addiction. But at the Mission, she found a community of caring people who worked with her to help her navigate community resources, find shelter, enter treatment and restore her faith. At the Mission, she seized the opportunity to build a better life.
Every day Mission staff and volunteers work tirelessly to help those struggling with homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, or persistent poverty.
For more than 110 years, the Mission has provided hope and healing to those in need in our community.
We provide a safe and accepting community where all people are welcome and can find the care, compassion, and guidance they need to to begin the journey of rebuilding their faith and life.
Every day we serve 150 – 200 visitors at the Mission thanks to the generosity of our advocates, volunteers and donors. Join us in celebrating our next success by considering a gift to the Mission. Every gift, no matter how large or small makes a difference.
